RISING SEAS: RISING DEBT SINKING POOR NATIONS

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Mar. 3, 2008 It is going to take thirty years for small nation
states to realize that they have been duped by the media and the
international lending agencies. The two factions work in accord. One is
keeping the hype of, rising seas, alive while the other is making loan
funds available to them to build coastal defenses as protection from
rising seas.
In thirty years it will be discovered that rising sea levels was a non
event. By that time, however, the damage will already have been done.
Many small nations will have already spent a substantial portion of
their already stretched budgets on useless persuits They will also have
gone further and further into debt to international agencies to offset
coastal exigencies that did not occur.
Small nations, unfortunately, already spend a major part of their
budgets on debt service. They have very little capital expenditure left
for Health, Education and Welfare Services. It is therefore grossly
unfair and irrational that they should incur more long term debt in
order to offset the myth of rising sea levels.
It is quite understandable why small states panic and respond to the
hype. For one their leaders are responsible to do something about the
threat based on all the available information. The available
information incidentally, however, comes from the media in developed
countries. They cannot afford to wait and see for they are not being
allowed to. The Media hype is all persuasive and pervading. They must
act now! It is peer pressure of international proportion. Small Nation
states will just have to go along with the hype. They will have to
spend all their money and incur substantial long term debt to find
after thirty years that they were mislead. Their children and
grandchildren will have to pay for the folly.
But wait a minute? Do they really have to wait? Why should they wait
for thirty years? Why should they spend all that time and money on
futile pursuits when they have the answer right here and now? As a
matter of fact the answer has been here from the beginning, whenever
that was. It has only been recently re-discovered since 1922 with the
advent and use of aerial photography.
There is an old saying "As New Jersey goes so goes the world" For those
of us who have never heard the adage An article by Donald Janson in the
New York Times June 5 1981 explains. The article is entitled: "Jersey
Rights to Shore prove Costly to Casinos" The article was rerun in the
Times issue of September 26 2007. I can only assume that the article
was rerun as a, heads-up, alert for small nations to take notice and
think seriously before spending their scarce national resources on
seafront defenses. I hope all the leaders of small nations read this
article and fully understand the implications: it could save them
millions in useless expenditure.
The State of new Jersey has discovered over the years since 1922 that
the sea is receding and leaving land behind in the process. The
discovery was made possible by aerial photography which showed that as
time passed the sea was deserting the shoreline. New Jersey was not
slow to recognize the gift of all this land from the sea. They have
been selling these new lands to Casinos and Hotel developers because
they are prime real estate frontage. These lands appear mysteriously as
they are deserted by the receding sea. The lands were being sold for
over 10 Millions dollars per acre to benefit the school fund. This was
twenty years ago. The Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City was built on
lands left behind by the sea.
The best part is that more land has been appearing since then. More and
more land has appeared to add frontage to the New Jersey Coastline.
From 1922 New Jersey has, perhaps, inherited 5000 acres of new land
from the sea along its 130 miles of seacoast. This figure is a
conservative estimate based on my assumptions. I have to make
assumptions: the State of New Jersey does not. The State does not have
to deal with empiricals they have the facts. Having established over
eighty plus years that they will always be getting new land from the
sea they are determined to reap this perpetual bonanza. And that is
where the story really gets interesting.
The State is pouring over old maps and surveys dating back into history
to find out where the shoreline was back in 1776. The objective being
to extract back taxes from their inhabitants who have occupied the
inherited lands since independence from Britain.
The State Constitution allows Riparian rights to all land washed by the
tides. The reality is that the tides keep moving outward deserting the
coastline. All states worldwide have riparian rights on all the lands
washed by the tides.
Riparian rights date back to Roman times when the state was the
custodian of the new lands left by the sea. The State was to
administrate these lands for the mutual benefit of all citizens. So it
appears that the Romans, way back then, knew that the sea receded. If
they did not then, we certainly know now. How do we know? Ostia the
Roman Harbor in ancient times is now three miles from the sea. It is
not only three miles from the sea, today, it is fifteen feet above sea
level. Do I have to draw a diagram or is the anomaly obvious?
So let us try to relate what happened in ancient Rome with what has
been happening in New Jersey in recent history. New Jersey has
discovered in recent years what the ancient Romans knew over two
thousand years ago and that is that seas are receding not rising.
But the outfall from all this information is not lost on the other
states of the great United States. There are twenty five States with
seashores. These States have been pursuing the same agenda as New
Jersey. They are all looking over old maps and surveys to find out
where the sea was two hundred years ago. They all nurture hope of
claiming back taxes from unsuspecting citizens. Again my calculation
reveals that the collective United states have inherited nearly one
million acres from the sea since 1776.
So it is for small nation states to understand what is happening by
looking at their own shorelines. They will realize that what is
happening on New Jersey shores is happening to their shorelines. They
will see that their shorelines are also receding. They will find that
their shorelines have also been deserted by the sea. They also must
understand that the desertion is all a part of a global expansion
phenomenon. Their land will not flood.
They will also see that the media hype is designed to make them spend
money to keep their feet dry. The big question is: will they be able to
keep their heads above water with the incurred debt.
I certainly hope that all these nations will read and understand the
lessons that history has taught us.
The recession of the sea has been going on for a very long time. It was
known in Roman Times it was known in ancient Greece and it is now known
in New Jersey. The sea will not rise and will never rise no matter if
all the icecaps melt. And by the way the icecaps will not melt.
Richard the author of the book "THE MYSTERIOUS RECEDING SEAS" refutes
rising sea levels and tells us what is really happening: you will be
amazed. Read "The Mysterious Receding Seas" and find out the truth
about Global Warming.
